This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to join a proactive and collaborative HR team, supporting the delivery of a comprehensive HR service across multiple sites. The successful candidate will play a key role in recruitment, employee relations, policy development and HR administration while providing practical support and advice to managers.

The Role
Reporting to the HR Manager, you will support the delivery of the organisation’s HR strategy and provide operational HR support across the full employee lifecycle. This includes recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, HR administration, policy implementation and supporting organisational change, including TUPE processes where required.
You will work closely with HR colleagues, managers and senior leaders to deliver a responsive, professional and customer-focused HR service.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of job evaluation activities, ensuring roles are assessed consistently and in line with the organisation’s job evaluation framework.
- Prepare and review job descriptions and person specifications to support job evaluation and organisational change processes.
- Liaise with managers to gather information required for job evaluation submissions and provide guidance on the process.
- Maintain accurate records of job evaluation outcomes and support the implementation of approved grading decisions.
- Assist with benchmarking roles and contributing to organisational design and workforce planning initiatives where appropriate.
- Provide administrative and coordination support for job evaluation panels, ensuring documentation is prepared accurately and confidentially.
- Work collaboratively with HR colleagues to ensure job evaluation processes are fair, transparent and compliant with organisational policies.
- Provide first-line HR advice and guidance to managers on policies, procedures and employee relations matters.
- Support HR casework, attending meetings and providing administrative and practical support where required.
- Assist with absence management, probation, induction and performance management processes.
- Support HR Business Partners with consultation processes and Trade Union engagement.
- Contribute to the review and development of HR policies, procedures and best practice.
- Coordinate HR training activities and maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD) records within the HR system.
- Assist with HR projects as directed by the HR Manager, including job evaluation and service improvement initiatives.
- Attend interviews and recruitment events as required.
- Ensure all HR processes are delivered efficiently, accurately and in line with current employment legislation and organisational policies.
About You
We’re looking for an organised, proactive and approachable HR professional who enjoys building positive working relationships and delivering a high-quality HR service.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a generalist HR role.
- Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding and employee relations activities.
- A sound understanding of HR policies, procedures and employment legislation.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Experience maintaining HR systems and confidential employee records.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to advise managers.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively within a busy HR team.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and delivering excellent customer service.
A CIPD qualification or working towards one would be advantageous but is not essential.
