Head of People

Sullivan Brown is proud to be partnering with a growing tech business as they enter an exciting new phase of their journey. Our client is investing in a progressive People function to help scale the business while maintaining a strong, values-led culture and delivering outstanding customer outcomes.

Reporting to the CEO, the Head of People & Culture will play a key role in shaping and delivering the People Strategy. You will build a scalable People Operating Model and strengthen leadership capability as the organisation grows beyond its current size. This is a unique opportunity to influence both strategic direction and day-to-day culture, ensuring the business continues to be a supportive, high-performing place to work.

Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will define and embed a consistent and inclusive colleague experience across a distributed workforce. You will lead the development of leadership capability, equipping managers to set clear expectations, deliver meaningful feedback, and drive performance. Alongside this, you will enhance engagement and wellbeing through effective communication and scalable initiatives.

A key part of the role will involve building a strong and predictable talent function. You will partner with leadership on workforce planning, improve in-house recruitment capability, and drive better hiring outcomes. You will also develop a structured Learning and Development approach, creating clear pathways and measurable plans aligned to business needs.

You will establish robust performance and progression frameworks, ensuring fairness and consistency, while also overseeing reward strategy in partnership with finance leadership. Using data and insight, you will introduce clear people metrics and reporting rhythms to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement. In addition, you will embed effective HR systems to enable leaders across the business to manage their teams confidently and consistently.

The successful candidate will be an experienced People leader from a scaling, fast-paced environment, ideally within consulting, professional services, or technology. You will bring a strong track record in leadership development, culture, and talent strategy, along with the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. Commercial awareness and the ability to influence at senior level will be key to success in this role.

This is a remote UK-based role, with a preference for candidates in the North East of England who can spend regular time in the Newcastle office, alongside occasional travel to client sites. The position is permanent and full-time.

If you are looking to shape the people strategy and culture of a growing organisation at a critical stage, Sullivan Brown would be delighted to hear from you.
