Sullivan Brown is delighted to be partnering with a leading UK infrastructure organisation to recruit an experienced Employment Litigation Specialist.

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a business that plays a vital role in keeping the UK’s essential infrastructure running. Operating across water, energy, transport and telecoms, our client employs over 11,000 people and is committed to creating a safer, more connected and sustainable future.

As the organisation continues to grow, they are looking for a commercially minded employment litigation expert who can confidently manage complex tribunal litigation while helping shape proactive employment risk strategies across the business.

The Opportunity

Working remotely with travel to key UK locations including Watford, Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol, you’ll be the organisation’s specialist lead on employment litigation, partnering closely with HR, Employee Relations, operational leaders and legal colleagues.

This is a highly visible role where you’ll influence decision-making at a senior level, providing pragmatic legal advice that balances legal risk with commercial outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll take ownership of employment litigation matters from start to finish, including:

  • Managing Employment Tribunal claims end-to-end, including case strategy, pleadings, witness statements, disclosure, bundles and hearing preparation.
  • Advising on ACAS Early Conciliation, judicial mediation, settlement strategy and other early resolution options.
  • Supporting complex and high-risk employee relations matters before they escalate into formal litigation.
  • Working collaboratively with HR, Employee Relations teams, operational leaders and legal colleagues to manage legal risk effectively.
  • Providing commercially focused legal advice that considers operational impact, reputational risk and cost.
  • Identifying trends across tribunal claims to strengthen governance, improve consistency and reduce future risk.
  • Delivering legal updates, guidance and capability-building initiatives across the wider Employee Relations function.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced employment lawyer who enjoys solving complex problems and influencing positive business outcomes.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Qualified Solicitor or Barrister in England & Wales with current practising rights.
  • Significant employment litigation experience gained in-house, private practice, or a combination of both.
  • Extensive experience managing Employment Tribunal litigation from initial claim through to final hearing.
  • Strong drafting skills across pleadings, witness statements, settlement agreements and hearing documentation.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and Employment Tribunal procedure.
  • Confidence advising senior stakeholders on sensitive, high-risk employment matters.
  • A pragmatic, commercially focused approach with the ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, practical business advice.

What’s On Offer

This is a rare opportunity to join a values-led organisation where legal professionals are trusted advisors and genuine business partners.

The package includes:

  • Salary of £85,000
  • £6,000 Car Allowance
  • Annual Bonus of up to £14,000
  • 7% Pension Contribution
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Private healthcare for you and your family
  • Healthcare cash plan
  • Company car scheme with a choice of EV and hybrid vehicles
  • Salary sacrifice EV scheme
  • Life assurance
  • Online GP service (24/7)
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Retail discounts portal
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Enhanced family leave
  • Reward and recognition programme
  • Recommend a Friend scheme

Why Join?

Our client believes infrastructure is about more than maintaining essential services—it’s about continually renewing, improving and reimagining them for the future.

You’ll be joining an organisation where safety comes first, collaboration is valued and people are encouraged to develop, challenge ideas and thrive. You’ll have the autonomy to make a genuine impact while working alongside supportive colleagues in a friendly, respectful and inclusive environment.

If you’re an experienced Employment Litigation Specialist looking for a strategic, business-facing role with outstanding flexibility, a market-leading package and the opportunity to influence legal risk across a major national organisation, we’d love to hear from you.
