The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the business across all areas of HR operations, providing first-line advice and guidance to managers and employees while ensuring a high-quality employee experience.
This is a varied and hands-on HR role, ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is confident managing a broad range of HR activities including employee relations, recruitment, payroll support, onboarding, training, reporting, and HR administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line HR advice and support to managers and employees on a wide range of people matters
- Support employee relations processes including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, performance issues, and flexible working requests
- Ensure HR processes remain compliant with UK employment legislation and company policies
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
- Assist with the preparation of employment contracts, HR letters, and change documentation
- Support payroll processing and resolve payroll-related queries
- Manage recruitment activity including job adverts, agency liaison, interview coordination, and onboarding
- Deliver and support new starter inductions
- Assist with appraisals, reporting, and performance management processes
- Analyse time and attendance data, identify trends, and support improvements
- Support training needs analysis and HR development initiatives
- Contribute to continuous improvement and automation of HR processes
- Provide administrative support for formal meetings, including note-taking
- Support health and safety initiatives across the business
About You:
The successful candidate will be an experienced HR professional who is confident working independently and enjoys being involved across the full employee lifecycle.
You will have:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience within a HR department
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of UK employment practices and HR processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail
- Confidence working under pressure within a fast-moving environment
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel
- A diplomatic and approachable style with the ability to build effective relationships
